Maurice Harris

Maurice is the Director of Violence Prevention and Outreach for The Obama Foundation via The Lawndale Christian Legal Center in Chicago. Maurice was given the 2017 Emerging Leader Award from LCLC to celebrate his outstanding work with youth in North Lawndale. Previously, Maurice was a director of the READI Program, with the Heartland Alliance, a nationally run violence prevention program. He’s led violence prevention workshops for numerous entities, most notably C.R.E.D. an organization run by former Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s foundation, The Emerson Collective. Maurice is also a devoted father of two and an entrepreneur.
